Flower trade in the blood

Our roots lie in the Dutch Dune and Bulb region. That’s where the flower trade blooms. Daan Kromhout Sr worked as a sales representative for a floristry supplies company for many years. He got to know the sector inside and out and learned the tricks of the trade. In 1982, he seized the opportunity to start his own business in floristry supplies. The focus was on tools, binding materials and packaging materials. In those days, florists focused entirely on the sales of flowers, plants, bouquets and set pieces.

Growth of a family business

From the very beginning, Daan Kromhout Sr’s wife and children (a son and two daughters) helped him make the business a success. It was a time of pioneering and improvising. But all the hard work was rewarded by satisfied, loyal customers and the growth of the business. Wholesaler Daan Kromhout was a success from its foundation. In 1989, Kromhout took over a similar business, thereby boosting the company's size and customer base. The business grew rapidly. Three business relocations later (each time due to lack of space) we are now based on Kruizemuntweg 27B in Rijsenhout, near Schiphol. We have an enormous showroom measuring over 1,500 m². Today, the third generation of the Kromhout family is involved in running the business. The enthusiasm, energy and customer focus of all our staff, an excellent ordering process and fast delivery times have enabled our wholesaler to develop. We are one of the leading wholesalers in home decoration and decoration materials. And we are extremely proud of that as a team.
